"Lighting is key because lighting gives you volume. I'm looking for that structural volume, that weight. That's why I'm so drawn to polar bears like this, because they're just sculpture moving through a landscape of sculpture. When the light strikes them a certain way, all that anatomy and fur and shifting form pops out. It gets very sculptural."
