Alessandra Pisano

Born: 1989

Alessandra Pisano

Biography

The winner of the Spectrum Rising Star award in 2017, Pisano often paints images containing elements of mythology and magic. Her oil paintings provide a glimpse into a world where solitary women live and hunt in the wilderness alongside animal companions. She noted, “I’ve just always really loved animals... I’m always exploring that connection, that animal-human bond that happens. Animals have a purity to them, and an honesty that people don’t always have... I think I mostly just keep coming back to nature...because nature is very sacred.”

Pisano is representative of a new approach to maintaining the vitality and relevance of illustration in a digital world. She promotes her original artworks on her website, sells prints and merchandise using her images, and has a strong social media presence. Because of her artistic talent and hard work, she has recently been commissioned to create artworks for the role-playing game Magic: The Gathering.
